Parking Alert & Traffic Change
Please allow extra travel time and plan ahead and avoid arriving at the last minute, as roadworks and congestion may cause delays.
Parking Alert – Heathmont Jets Football Netball Club are hosting the Football Finals at H.E. Parker over the next 3 Saturdays, and sot the area will be extra busy.
Dates:
- Saturday 15th August – 4 games Semi Finals
- Saturday 22nd August – 3 games Preliminary Finals
- Saturday 29th August – 4 games Grand Finals
This will significantly increase traffic in the area and parking may be more challenging than usual. Please allow extra time to park. Council have reminded Heathmont FNC that there will be no parking available at Maroondah Nets for football patrons as the car parks need to maintained for Maroondah Nets patrons.
To assist with increased traffic in the precinct Heathmont FNC will be implementing the following as per their event plan, to ensure spaces remain available for netball participants and visitors
- A traffic management team to assist with flow of traffic around scheduled games throughout the day. Jets Junior Club parents and older players will be supervising the gates volunteering their time and managing traffic and parking.
- Advising all participating clubs of restricted parking and recommending carpooling as the best option and parking further away and walk and walking to the game.
- Suggesting alternate car parking on the Bayswater side of Dandenong creek
- As per last year, we will be erecting signage throughout the car park on Friday afternoons advising ‘Maroondah Nets Patron Parking Only’.
Roadworks
The ongoing roadworks at the Canterbury Road and Heathmont Road intersection are affecting access to Maroondah Nets.
Key access changes
- No right turn from Canterbury Road into Heathmont Road. Signed detours are in place.
- Access to Heathmont Road from the end of July for approximately 3 weeks, with signed detours in place
- Southern leg of Heathmont Road: Drivers can continue to turn left or right when exiting Heathmont Road onto Canterbury Road. Drivers on Canterbury Road wanting to access Heathmont Road will need to detour via Dickasons Road and, Bennett Avenue or Orchid Street.
- Northern leg of Heathmont Road: Drivers can continue to turn left from Canterbury Road into Heathmont Road. Drivers exiting Heathmont Road will need to detour via Lisgoold Street, Viviani Crescent and Balfour Avenue.
Weekend access for HE Parker Reserve
To support increased traffic movements for events at HE Parker Reserve, the traffic lane entering Heathmont Road on the southern leg will reopen during the following weekends:
Friday afternoon (7 August) to 6am Monday 10 August 2026
From 6pm Friday 14 August to 6am Monday 17 August 2026
From 6pm Friday 21 August to 6am Monday 24 August 2026
Please note that traffic conditions may change, so drivers should always follow the onsite signage and directions from traffic controllers.
