The Melbourne East Netball Association (MENA) is seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Coaching (Head Coach) to lead our Representative Program and drive excellence across all age groups.

Melbourne East Netball Association is one of Victoria’s leading community netball associations, providing competitions, programs and representative opportunities for athletes across Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. About the Role
The Director of Coaching plays a pivotal leadership role within MENA’s Representative Program. Reporting to the Board and working closely with the Operations Manager, you will oversee coaching development, player pathways and program performance across all representative teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and mentoring representative coaches across all age groups.
- Attending training sessions, games, trials and key representative events.
- Appointing, onboarding and supporting coaches.
- Driving consistent coaching standards, systems and communication.
- Overseeing athlete development and talent identification.
- Delivering specialist coaching and development sessions.
- Monitoring program performance and providing regular reports to the Board.
- Promoting a positive, inclusive and high-performing team culture.
- Working collaboratively with MENA volunteers, families, coaches and stakeholders.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has strong netball coaching experience and proven leadership capability.
- Is passionate about developing both players and coaches.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Can provide strategic direction while remaining visible and approachable.
- Has experience managing programs, people and competing priorities.
- Is committed to creating safe, inclusive and supportive sporting environments.
- Understands contemporary coaching principles and athlete development pathways.
