We are seeking a self motivated and organised person to market, promote and administer netball competitions and tournaments on a casual basis (10 – 15 hours per week during school terms. Must be able to work competitions times -Friday nights & Saturdays.)

About MENA
Melbourne East Netball Association is a not-for-profit organisation delivering netball competitions, tournaments, and programs across Melbourne’s eastern suburbs since 1952.
We support 14 affiliate clubs and around 30 independent teams, offering competitions from junior grades through to Open Women’s, as well as walking netball, twilight tournaments, and a representative program.
We are affiliated with Netball Victoria and committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful sporting environment.
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and organised Competitions & Communications Officer to support the delivery of MENA’s competitions, programs, and events.
This role combines competition administration, communications, and marketing, with hands-on involvement during competition times (Friday evenings and Saturdays during the school term).
You will work closely with the Operations team, Competition Supervisors, Game Day staff, and Program Coordinators to ensure competitions run smoothly and that communication across all platforms is accurate, timely, and engaging.
Primary Purpose
- Support the delivery of MENA competitions through effective administration and coordination of communications across all digital platforms
- Ensure consistent, accurate, and engaging communication with clubs, teams, and the wider netball community
- Assist in the smooth operation of competitions behind the scenes and on game days
About You
You will bring:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of organisation and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Experience in customer service or stakeholder engagement
- Confidence using social media and digital platforms
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Basic graphic design skills (desirable)
- Experience with Netball Connect or similar systems (desirable)
- Interest in community sport or netball (desirable)
Requirements
- Current Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Completion of relevant safeguarding and child safety training
- Availability to work Friday evenings and Saturdays during competition season
Position and Hours of Work
Casual role with approximately two weekday daytime shifts per week, plus Friday evenings and Saturdays during term time (excluding public holidays). Occasional support on Monday and Wednesday evenings may be required.
Please note: This role is aligned to the competition calendar and there are generally no hours are available during school holiday periods

The position is based at Maroondah Nets, HE Parker Reserve, Heathmont
