MENA has a Zero Tolerance Policy for Abuse
- Verbal or physical abuse towards umpires, players, officials, coaches, or spectators is never acceptable.
Raising Concerns Respectfully
If you have concerns during a match:
- Who to Approach: Speak with the MENA Competition Coordinator or Umpire Supervisor for clarification.
- How to Identify Them: They wear blue/yellow MENA polos and blue vests.
- Where to Find Them: Near the courts or in the Competition Office.
Let’s keep our netball environment safe, fair, and respectful for everyone.
Competition & Umpire Game Day Coordinators will log these in the Competition Log. This helps us track and address:
1. Player Misconduct
2. Spectator Misconduct
3. Coaches’ Misconduct
4. Umpire and Official Issues
These logs help inform communication with Clubs and Social teams.
Clubs are then responsible for investigating the reported behaviour and taking appropriate action. Depending on the situation, actions taken have included suspensions, supervised games, written apologies, additional training, or re-signing the Code of Conduct.

Formal Complaint
If you wish to lodge a formal complaint through the Netball Victoria Competition Complaints Handling Regulation. This process applies to any behavior that breaches expected standards.
Details for submitting the complaint are:
- If anyone wishes to lodge a formal complaint, information on how to lodge a Match Day Complaint is outlined in point 34 of the MENA Bylaws available on our web site at https://menanetball.com.au/rules-regulations .
- Must be received withing 3 business days of the incident and sent to Secretary@menanetball.com.au
