Remembrance Day
As we approach Remembrance Day tomorrow, November 11th, at 11 pm, let us come together to honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations. This solemn day holds great significance, marked by a minute of silence at the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month, commemorating the moment when the Armistice took effect.
In recognition of this important day, during the 10:30 am game, there will be a respectful pause in the 3rd Quarter. At 10:58 am, a brief announcement by Council staff will precede a minute of silence at 11 am. Our Competition staff will also remind everyone before the game, emphasizing the importance of observing Remembrance Day during this short ceremony.
Please pay close attention to the announcements. The game will temporarily halt in the 3rd quarter, adhering to the following schedule: play for 5 minutes, 3 minutes break for ceremony including 1 minute of silence, and resume play for another 5 minutes. The total game time will remain unchanged. Half-time will be 1 minute shorter, and there will be less time between games, ensuring that the overall schedule is maintained.
Let us join together in a moment of reflection and gratitude as we pay tribute to the brave service personnel who sacrificed for the well-being of Australia.
