Spring Back to Netball
At 70% 16+ fully vaccinated:
- Indicative date Tuesday, 26 October
- Return to outdoor training
- Minimum number required for the activity
- includes players and coach
At 80% 16+ fully vaccinated
- Indicative date Friday, 5 November
- Community sport for all age groups permitted indoors and outdoors
- Minimum number required for activity
- Indoors max 150, outdoors max 500 density quotients apply
Goals
- Get players back out on the court with their teammates
- Provide a fun, lower intensity return to physical activity
- Assist the clubs to gauge numbers of players who will return to the sport to assist with 2022 planning
Spring Back to Netball
- 5/6 weeks of games, Fri 5th Nov Sat 11 th Dec (dates are indicative only and are dependent on the easing of govt restrictions)
- Based on Spring season that is already set up
- Assuming all registered teams for Spring will return. Clubs to let MENA know if this is not the case.
- Emphasis on fun and getting back into the game we love
- No finals or awards
- Scores to be taken and ladder to be published (not for NSG)
- Clubs to provide own umpires
- Teams could be moved around to avoid blowouts
- No restrictions regarding playing up or twice clubs to use their discretion (take care not to overload)
- Rolling substitutions
From Netball Victoria regarding Vaccinations:
What has come through loud and clear is the government’s requirement for individuals to be fully vaccinated to participate in many aspects of community life upon re opening. We encourage our members to get vaccinated (if eligible).
No further information is available currently regarding vaccinations being a requirement or a recommendation.
