Weather Policy
We certainly got to test the Weather Policy on Saturday! Thanks to all players/coaches and to the Competition Coordinators who had to work their way through this policy in real time! Generally the plan is to avoid having to cancel any games however once a game has commenced outside they will not be brought inside to play. Competition Coordinators will attempt to make the call early but we also don’t want to play half games if we can get full games in so the preference is to play all games as per schedule.

Weather Policy

This is probably an opportune time to remind you all of the Weather Policy http://www.menanetball.com.au/files/42293/files/2019/20190528weatherpolicy.pdf

Now we have the luxury of indoor courts and the weather is forecast to be particularly horrible tomorrow! The important points to highlight:

All teams should report to the courts at their fixtured time and they will be notified of any rescheduling
Competition Coordinators in conjunction with Umpires Convenor will make decisions timeslot by timeslot
Our intention is to not cancel any games – they may be shortened to allow all to play indoors

In relation to extra clothing from the Cold Weather Policy http://www.menanetball.com.au/files/42293/files/Policy/ME052%20Cold%20Weather%20Policy%202016%20-%20pub%202017.pdf

If under 10 degrees at the start of the game:

  • Players can wear black tights/leggings/skins under their standard uniform
  • Players skirt or shorts must still be worn over the tights/leggings/skins
  • No other types of long pants can be worn, including tracksuit pants or pants with pockets this is a safety requirement
  • Umpires are to enforce the cold weather uniform rules as per the standard uniform rules
  • Umpires can wear black or white tights/leggings/skins/tracksuit pants

From the NetSetGo Policy:

  • Players can wear black leggings and/or club coloured long sleeves during colder weather
