2025 Netball Festival – 9 & Under Tournament

Key Times

• Teams arrive no earlier than 9.30am
• 9.45am – Teams Check in at Competition office.
• 9:55am Welcome to Netball Festival
• 10:00am NETFIT Warm Up session for players on Court 1 & 2
• 10:10am – Umpire briefing
• 10:45am – Rd 1 Matches start
• 1:30pm – Medal Presentation, listen for announcements on the day as to which court this will take place.

Key Points

• This tournament is designed to focus on fun, participation, and player development, rather than competition. As such, there are no finals played. Instead, to celebrate the efforts and enthusiasm of all involved, medals will be awarded to every player who has participated in the round robin tournament.
• The Courtside Café will be open for food and drinks (including coffee and hot chocolates 😊!)
• If you have any issues during the day, please visit the competition office window.

Club Marquees

• Teams are welcome to set up a marquee in the designated areas. These include the top car park, and behind Court 8. Please remember that this is a shared area and be considerate of other teams when setting up. This will ensure all teams can set up an area if they wish. We will not be allocating specific areas for teams.
• Clubs are welcome to set up banners in the same designated areas (top car park & behind court 8), but NO banners are allowed inside or in any undesignated areas.

Umpires

• There will be an Umpire briefing at 10:10am, Umpires are to report to the competition office at 10:10 am for this briefing.
• Umpires are to report to courts promptly and ensure teams are ready to start at the siren.

Round Robin Tournament Rules:

• Each team is to supply an umpire. All umpires to sign on before the first game. All umpires to attend a briefing at 10:10am.
• All teams and umpires must be at the courts for a 10:45am start.
• There are no scoresheets for the matches.
• Each team will play 4 – 5 games consisting of 2 x 6-minute halves. There is no half time break. Teams will swap ends; team members and positions can be changed. There is a 2-minute changeover time between games.
• After the game, teams should move off the court for the following game to commence on time.
• After the last round, a presentation will be held for all players, listen for announcements on the day for which court the presentation will take place. Please make sure that your team makes their way to where presentation is taking place promptly, so that the presentations can start on time. Everyone must leave the courts by 2pm sharp as there is an external booking.
• All players will receive a Participation medal

Presentations

• Presentations for all players participating in the Round Robin Tournament will be take place at 1:30pm listen for announcements on the day as to which court this will take place.

Wet Weather

• In the event of wet weather, all teams are expected to arrive at their scheduled start and game times. MENA staff will be on-site and will make any necessary adjustments to the schedule or format to accommodate the conditions. We appreciate your cooperation and flexibility as we work to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.

“Come and Try” sessions and demos for various netball formats, including:

• 10.30am NETFIT Netball New to Netball Skills session – participate in a fun netball skills session.
• 11.15am Walking Netball Come & Try session
• 11.45am Boys Netball Team Demonstration
• 12.15pm All Abilities demonstration
• 12.45pm Fast 5 Super Shot Competition
