Return to community netball resources
Eased Restrictions - 19 November
Today marks a huge milestone for the Victorian community. Together, we have reached 90% vaccination status, one of the highest in the world. With that achievement comes the removal of most restrictions, including those impacting on community netball. Venue limits have now been removed and we look forward to welcoming back our parents, guardians, and spectators.

2021 Autumn Season – update 11 June
We were hopeful with the easing of restrictions that we would have been in a position to offer the opportunity for all players to get back to netball for a game plus run the Grand final day. The Executive have been looking at many different scenarios during this lockdown and considering the best way forward.
The Committee (which include club competition reps) meeting on Tuesday night considered a number of these options with the agreement that if we only managed to have one weekend of netball we would have the Grand Finals based on ladder positions while also running games for all other teams. Unfortunately, the easing of restrictions has not gone the way we had hoped and while we would have liked to get all players back for a game, the current restrictions placed on regional Victoria (which Netball Victoria has advised is a good indicator for us) would make it very difficult to allow this to happen.
Our plan now, should the easing of restrictions allow, is to play as follows:
- a round of regular games on Friday, 18th June for NetSetGo players. Participation certificates and medals would be given to the coach to hand out at the end of the game.
- Grand Final games for all other grades on Saturday, 19th June. This would be 1 v 2 on the ladder as it stands currently. Presentations will be made on each court at the end of the game.
All games that have not been played (including the previously postponed games) will be abandoned and ladders updated accordingly. I am hopeful that MyNetball will allow me to change the Finals set up to be just Grand Final but if not I will manually complete the fixture. One way or another this will be available from next Tuesday at the latest. I will let you know when it is available.
Please understand this is not a decision that has been made lightly. We have looked at many different scenarios with our priority being getting as many players back on court safely and within the restrictions placed upon us. Netball Victoria are working hard also to clarify a number of points but the information is not always readily available for them. We are also conscious that players, parents, coaches, and umpires need to have clarity around what is happening so they can prepare and plan accordingly.
