Activity
Form the group into a circle. Number each player around the circle. If you have 8 players start with 1, then 3, then 5, then 7, then 2, 4, 6, 8. Start the ball with player number 1. The ball is passed from 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 to 5 to 6 to 7 to 8 back to 1.
Then add a ball until you have 7 balls or one less than the number of people in the group.
Challenge the group to make a series of successful passes.
Change it – change the type of passes. Challenge the team to count the number of successful passes in a minute

Activity
Split players into groups of 4.
Set up 3 players in a line and 2 players with the ball. 1 player out the front with a ball is the thrower. The thrower passes to first player in the line and they pass it back. The player in the line moves out to the left about 1 metre and then back to their position.
Meanwhile the thrower passes the ball the person without the ball and they pass it back. The player in the line moves out to the back of the line about 1 metre and back to their position.
Meanwhile the thrower passes the ball to the person without the ball in the line and they pass it back. The player in the line move out to the right of the line about 1 metre and back to their position.
The thrower then throws it back to the player without the ball person and starts again.

Up, down, Around & Over

Activity
Split the group into pairs, with a ball between each pair. Each player starts facing each other on the opposite side of the centre third.
Thrower starts with the ball. Their partner starts on the transverse line. The partner moves up the court to about halfway and thrower passes a shoulder pass and it’s passed back.
The partner moves towards the thrower. The thrower drops the ball and the partner moves up and grabs the ball and returns the ball to the thrower.
The partner moves around the thrower and the thrower throws the ball up and in front and the partner catches the all and takes the ball to their transverse line.
The partners start again, this time they swap the thrower.
Change it – after the partner moves up the court for the shoulder passes and returns the ball. They head back to their transverse line hit is with their foot or hand and comes back for another shoulder pass before moving to the drop ball.
Zig Zag Give & Go

- Dots placed in a zig zag

Activity
Players start on a dot. Throw ball in a zip zag line, walking to fill the gaps at the end of the zig zap and keep the momentum going.
Change it: Different passes or balls
Boundary Bash Ball
Equipment
- 4 Netballs
- 2 balls with tape around them or a different colour balls – make sure they are easily identified.

Activity
Divide the team into 2. Each team lines up on each of the sidelines. 2 players on the baseline.
To start throw the taped balls in to the court space. Players attempt to underhand roll a ball so that it hits the taped ball and defend the ball from getting across the line. A point is awarded for getting the taped ball across the opponent line. Players can’t enter the court.
Change it: Pilates ball instead of taped ball

6 Point Drill

Activity
Rock Paper Scissors
Equipment: At least 15 dots

Activity
Set up dots in a half circle from the corners of the court.
Split team in to 2 groups. Each team starts at the start of the dots in each of the corners of the court.
One player from each team jumps from dot to dot until they meet. When they meet, they play Paper/Rock/Scissors. The winner keeps jumping from cone to cone. Looser goes to the back of their team’s line.
For a team to win a player wins Paper/Rock/Scissors at the last dot (first dot of the opposition) in front of the opposition.
Change it: hop, walk, side step
Steal the Cone

- 3 different Cone colours for each pair

Activity
Cones of different colors are place in groups of three in a circle with a player on either side of the cones.
Call out: Knees, shoulders, Heads, toes, elbow, back – Player’s touch part of the body called out
Call out: Left of Right – Players move left or right to the next set of cones
Call out: If shout out a color it’s a race to see who grabs the cone first.

Activity
In groups of about 6 to 8 and in 2 rows facing each other about a chest pass away. One person with the ball nearest the side line start by chest passing across to person opposite and the walk behind the row to the end. Keep going until everyone is at the other end of the court then start again using bounce passes.
Change it: Make it a race to make it over the baseline
Make it a race down the court and first team to score a goal.
Jianzi
Equipment
- Janzi/Hacky sack ball or Balloon
Play alone, pairs or in groups.
Activity
The goal of the game is to keep the Jianzi/hacky sack ball/Balloon airborne for 8 hits possible using any body part except the hands. It can be kicked using the feet, knees, shoulders, or even the head. A point scored for every 8 hits. The game continues until the Jianzi hits the ground.
First team to get 21 points wins.
Change it – The players can stand or sit, making it accessible for people of varying physical abilities.
Cut the Cake

Activity
Players stand in a circle with one player in the centre. The player in the centre is the passing player and begins with the netball. They pass the netball to a player in the outside circle and go to the left of the player in the outside circle.
The player to the right of the player that received the pass moves to the centre of the circle. The player that received the pass throws the ball to the new player in the centre..
Repeat with all players taking a turn passing in the centre. Use with chest passes, shoulder passes, bounce passes and lobs.
Change it:
- Get the receiving players in the outside circle to step back to increase the distance between them and the passing player in the centre.
- Player who threw the ball to the outside of the circle defends the player they threw to.
- Add more balls.
21 Cone Shoot out
Equipment:
- 21 cones
- 2 Balls (a ball for each team)
- Goal post
Good for pairs or groups
Activity
Split group in to 2 teams. Each team lines up outside goal circle with a ball each. Cones are stacked at the transverse line.
Each team takes it in turn to shoot. If a player gets a goal in they pick up a cone and bring it back to their team. If they don’t get a goal return to the end of the line.
Game finishes when there are no cones left.
Team with the most cones wins.

Activity
Split group in to 2 teams. Each Team line round their goal circle. One person comes into the goal circle with the ball.
The person in the middle passes to every team member then shoots the ball until they get a goal or hits the goal ring.
The shooter passes the person at the start of the line, and they move to the end of the line. Everyone shuffles around and the passer passes to all the players.
The winning team is the first team is the first to have all their team members shoot a goal/striker the goal ring.
Naughts & Crosses shooting

- 9 cones set up in 3 row of 3
- 2 sets of bibs

Activity
Set cones up near the transverse line in 3 rows of 3 to make the naughts and cross board. Place the bibs over the baseline.
Spilt teams in 2 groups. Teams start in a line over the transverse line with a ball.
Team members take it in turn to shoot a goal. They have one shot. If they get a goal, they pick up a bib and place it on the naughts and crosses grid. If they don’t get a goal pass the ball back to their line and move to the end of the line.
To win the team must get 3 bibs in a row on the naughts and crosses board.

Netball Rounders
Equipment
- 2 balls

Activity
Place cones evenly around the goal third lines.
Players split into 2 groups – shooters line up at the top of the circle. And runners get ready at the corner base line.
Runners move around the third one at a time. Scoring points as the go past each cone. If the runner gets all the way around they score 10 extra points.
At the same time the shooters shoot one at a time. Count the number of goals.
If a goal is scored whilst a runner is in progress, the runner scores points equivalent to the cone they have reached. They then rejoin their team ready for their next turn. The next player goes when stop is called.
The runners score as many points as possible in the allotted time. When their time is up. The teams swap roles.
The team with the most points plus goals is the winner.
Change it – runners side step and pass the ball between the partners.
Cone Strike

Activity
Place cones along the goal line – 3 each side of the goal post.
Split group in to 2 teams. Teams put on bibs so they know which team they are in. Assign the team an end they will “goal”.
To score a goal players must hit a cone with the ball. They can’t roll the ball and they can’t enter the goal circle. When the ball strikes a cone the cone is the removed. The team wins when they have hit all the cones and they have no cones left.
Start the game with the players behind the transverse lines. Throw the ball into the centre third. Once the ball is throw the players can enter the third to get the ball.
