Bring along your spare change & help us beat the number one toddler cancer.
We would like to get behind a cause close to our hearts – You Are My Sunshine Foundation. The Foundation funds research into the aggressive childhood cancer Neuroblastoma.
Carly Kinsella is our Netball Program Manager and valued member of our Melbourne East Netball office team. On 9th June 2019 Carly’s world crashed down around when her son Lachlan (at 20 months) was diagnosed with stage four Neuroblastoma. Carly & Ryan, and older sister Isabelle and their local community were shattered at the news.
Since Lachlan’s being diagnosed, the little battler has undergone several procedures and treatments including six rounds of chemotherapy and an 11-hour surgery to remove the tumour, which resulted in the loss of his left kidney and took a toll on his body. Click here to learn more about Lachlan’s cancer journey.
Our aim is to raise awareness of neuroblastoma and to raise funds for research. It is our hope that by funding this important research, by raising awareness and being an advocate for these beautiful little neuroblastoma kids, that we will find a cure that is so desperately needed.
Donations received during Round 5 will make an enormous difference to Lachlan and hundreds of children like him who are diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. Every donation, no matter how small or big will make a positive difference. You are My Sunshine Foundation funds research into the aggressive childhood cancer neuroblastoma.
Neuroblastoma is the leading cause of death of children under 5 from cancer and the average age of diagnosis is 2 years old. Current survival rates for aggressive neuroblastoma are around 50%. We need to urgently improve treatments, so all children get to grow up. All funds raised will go to You Are My Sunshine Foundation.
Please bring along any spare change or donate what you would have spent on buying food from the BBQ. Or donate at the Cafe if you wish to donate by Card.
A huge thank you to the all the helpers from all the clubs in making this possible.
Volunteers are the lifeblood of our community. The ability of people to willingly donate their time and energy to meaningful causes and organisations makes for much enrichment of our community.
