NetSetGo 9 and under mixed Competition

The NetSetGo 9 & Under Mixed Competition play as per the Netball Australia NetSetGo Rules and MENA Bylaws with the following modifications

 

  • Ball – Size 4
  • Timing – as per Competition Rules
  • Time to Pass the Ball – 5 seconds
  • Stepping – Shuffling on the spot to regain balance allowed without moving down the court.
  • Defending – Strict “one-on-one” defence. Players may defend a shot at goal.
  • Substitutions – The game time should be evenly distributed amongst all players. A team of up to 10 players is recommended
  • Players should experience all positions over the course of the program/season
  • Scoring – Scores will be kept but no ladder produced. No final matches will be played.
  • Awards – Each participant in the competition will be given a memento of participation e.g. a medal.
  • Coaches – one coach per team can move up and down the sideline (not baseline) to coach during the game.They should be on opposite sides of the court and should not impede umpire movement.

  • Players can wear black leggings and/or club coloured long sleeves during colder weather.

NetSetGO Round Robin Information

All NetSetGo teams will take part in a Round Robin at the end of the season

  • Each team is to supply an umpire. All umpires to sign on before the first game. All umpires to attend a briefing at 7.50am.
  • All teams and umpires must be at the courts for an 8.00am start.
  • Fixtures will be available on the MENA website prior to the Round Robin.
  • There are no scoresheets for the matches.
  • Each team will play 3 or 4 games consisting of 2 x 6 minute halves. There is no half time break. Teams will swap ends; team members and positions can be changed. There is a 2-minute changeover time between games.
  • After the game, teams should move off the court for the following game to commence on time.
  • After the last round, a presentation will be held for all players on Court 4. Please make sure that your team makes their way to the court promptly, so that the presentations can start on time.
  • All players will receive a Participation Certificate and medal.
